Music Saturday

I know it has been a while and I apologize my little net surfers. I have dubbed today Music Saturday. Wanted to share a few good songs that you may or may not enjoy. Either way, here we go. First is a personal favorite of mine: Nico Vega. Nico Vega is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2005. The band consists of lead singer Aja Volkman, guitarist Rich Koehler and drummer Dan Epand. I must admit that both Draku and I have a bit of a crush on Aja. Her vocal style has been compared to that of Karen O, Joan Jett and Janis Joplin. I had the privilege of seeing them live in concert back in April and I have to tell you that they put on one hell of a show. If you get the chance to go to one, you must!

Second we have a video of a band that is very new to me. Found this song thru a Nico Vega Facebook post and got hooked for some reason. Here's what I could find out about them: CocoRosie is a musical group formed in 2003 by sisters Bianca "Coco" and Sierra "Rosie" Casady. The sisters were born and raised in the United States, but formed the band in Paris after meeting for the first time in years. Their music has been called "freak folk", and incorporates elements of pop, blues, opera, electronica, and hip hop.

The Begenning

I have had some concern as to how I should start this blog off and after some mental war I found my perfect first two stories.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have an unusually hefty obsession with Lady Gaga. I even have a separate blog just for my Gaga news that I find myself looking up every hour on the hour. Anyway, about 4 months or so ago I used my much deserved tax refund to buy my Draku and I tickets to The Lady Gaga Monster Ball on August 11, 2010 at the Staples Center. As you can imagine, I am practically jumping out of my own skin with excitement as the days narrow down. I have gone to one other concert of hers last year when she was in LA and the energy and excitement in the stadium was enough to keep me searching her tour dates for the next LA show. Not to mention the dazzling Semi Precious Weapons performance! I am practically peeing my pants in anticipation to see her and the stunning Justin Tranter of SPW, but this show just might top the last one. Why? Because not only has the show been completely remodeled to practically be a Broadway play but I get to take my amazingly supportive and not to mention sexy man with me. The only down side? Our seats will give us a nose bleed and we will not get to see Gaga up close. I don't care, It's totally worth it. I CANT WAIT!!!

Unlike Mother Monster (Gaga), I am not a huge fan Ke$ha. She has some very catchy tunes though and I enjoy rocking out to her hits. Draku can only stand one of her songs...D.I.N.O.S.A.U.R. (If you have not heard this, you must look it up and get a good laugh). Well, Ke$ha came out with a new music video and while reviewing this video some memories managed to get stirred up in Draku's head. He began telling me about a dream that he had recently that had me almost rolling off of the bed with laughter. Before I get into the details, I just have to say to Dakota and Yolanda that we have GOT TO plan this out one year! ha-ha. Apparently in this dream I take Draku to this theater on his birthday where a couple of sexy girls take over in guiding him to a stool on stage in the dark and offer him a T-Rex dinosaur suit to put on. Draku being the crazy man that he is has no problem with putting the suit on and it fits very snug as they zip him into it. He can barley move his legs because the dinosaur legs are short and the tail is heavy, he can barley move his arms because the T-Rex arms are stumpy and the dinosaur head features a large gaping mouth so his face is visible. After he gets into his get-up they place him on the stool again and at that moment the beginning of Ke$ha's D.I.N.O.S.A.U.R. starts blaring over the theater speakers, the lights all flash on revealing all of Draku's friends and family sitting in the audience (Mes, Kitty, Buddha, Yolanda, Joe, Dakota, Artie, Poe and myself among others), all the sexy girls rip off their top layer of clothing to disclose their cave woman clothing (yes, furry bikinis) and last but not least Ke$ha pops out on stage with her revealing outfit and begins the song. The girls help Draku up and then proceed to prance around him dancing to the music as he tries to "chase" after them in his over sized suit. Every time he gets close enough to almost touch one of the girls with his stumpy arms they trot away teasingly acting like a monster is after them. So Hilarious. Every time I hear the song now all I can think about is Draku in a T-Rex suit frustrated and laughing because he cant catch the sexy girls in their bikinis. I am determined to do this one day. Ke$ha might not be there but a T-Rex suit and a few sexy girls willing to get half naked can't cost too much...right? ha-ha.

Well, as this is the first entry to our lovely blog I figured we should leave you with a treat...here is one of Draku & Snow's all time favorite recipes right now.
